Göttinger Junge Forschung - This is the title for a series published by the Institute for Democracy Research, founded March 1st at the Georg-August-University in Göttingen, Germany. The Institute aims to reduce the distance between university and society, through concise language, pointed theories and original interpretation. This series is intended as a hinge: young researchers are able to show that they are proficient in the techniques of scientific research, and also capable of colorful and expressive wording.

The editors as well as the authors follow in the tradition of the so-called Göttinger School of Political Science, as members or as interested individuals. The printed works will therefore focus on the following research subjects: possibilities and limits, biographical backgrounds and indicators of success of political leadership, cultural phenomena, e.g. the shape and effect of social generations; finally, the classic questions that arise from the area of party and association research.

Methodically spekaing, the series Göttinger Junge Forschung focuses on a wide variety of aspects, perspectives, and processes. Because human behavior is oftentimes illogical, political decisions frequently arise from concidence. The danger of evening out nuances can only be avoided by pragmatic openness in research. Besides, this benefits the enjoyment of a good read.
