Dr Layla Saleh studied Political Science and International Relations at the University of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Since 2024, she is an adjunct faculty member at Chiba University (Tokyo) and Director of Research at Demos Tunisia-Democratic Sustainability Forum. Previously, Saleh taught as Assistant and Associate Professor at Qatar University in Doha. Saleh’s books include Resisting Hard Power in the Arab World (Routledge, 2017), COVID-19 and MENA Risk Society (IB Tauris, 2023) (co-edited with Larbi Sadiki), and (with Larbi Sadiki) the forthcoming Revolution and Democracy in Tunisia (OUP, 2024). Her articles have been published by, among other outlets, International Journal of Feminist Politics, The International Spectator, The Journal of North African Studies, as well as OpenDemocracy and Eurozine.
